NEXT: Christos Dikeakos

Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver BC, 2015

In this focused exhibition, Vancouver-based artist Christos Dikeakos considers the economic and cultural values involved in transactions of Northwest Coast art. This series of photographs produced over the last six years portrays collectors, entrepreneurs and artists captured in acts of assessment, exchange or contemplation of these evocative objects. Additional images by Dikeakos speak to the transformation of land use and the spiritual dimensions of nature, both of which inform Indigenous cultural beliefs.
